Thomas. Hopkins, M.D., or “Dr. Tom,” as he is called by his patients, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine who is in private practice in Sacramento, California. He is the Medical Director for Employee Health Services, Utilization Management, Tobacco Cessation Program, and the Sutter Bariatric Program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. He is an affiliate of Sutter Medical Center and physian member of Sutter Independent Physicians and Hills Physicians Medical Group.
Dr. Hopkins currently serves as the Chief Medical Correspondent for KCRA-3 in Sacramento, an NBC-affiliate television station where he delivers live television broadcasts three times per week on current issues relevant to health and medicine. He is the CEO and founder of Medi-Stop, Inc., which is a network of urgent care centers providing access to basic medical care.
Dr. Hopkins has been a practicing physician for 12 years. He worked as a physician within a large, multi-specialty group for six years prior to starting his private medical practice. He has served in several leadership positions within the community and local hospital. He formerly served as a Delegate to the American Medical Association and California Medical Association.
